Bobby Mlove I tried to register via the app, it said unable to connect to the internet. Then I got a confirmation email from MFP. So I tried to log in, no such account. Tried to use the same email with a new account name – email is already associated with an account. Tried again with a new email address, same thing each time. Mary When you list a food for that day how can you delete it from the list so it never comes up again Ethel I can see how this app would be useful for some people, but it just isn’t powerful enough for my nutritional tracking needs. It’s a shame, since the integration with other apps is so good. I need more micronutrients (and understand processed food databases generally won’t have this so I’ll want to focus on simpler foods). Using Chronometer for more on Android, although I love the food recommendations in Wholesome (Apple ecosystem only). Hope MFP can offer similar functionality some day. I’ve just started to use this app. I’m in a different scene than you. Because I’m 80 in 2 months time, active in working out 3 times a week in gym, I’m finding it hard to put myself in a category with no way to put my height of 5 ft1/2 inches down!! Then I’m not in a category of my fitness in the gym. Thus it has an effect on me trying to use the calorie counter. It appears for what I’ve put into as information, I need 5,001 calories a day? Then the diary part I find is difficult because I don’t know how to work out my food consumption yet. But I’ll persist. Back to see PT Monday and talk to my GP next month to see nutritionist for more help. My prob is building up muscles in arms, quads working well tummy is not decreasing, and I’m now trying to work out this to help. I am very active and presently go to cardiac rehab 3 days a week and my local gym the alternate days. I am finding it very difficult this time to lose weight. I have been doing the Spark people online for 2 weeks now but thought I would give this a try. I am a clean eater but love to snack. Liz I used to snack all the time too, until I started drinking Lattes. I now have coffee in the morning and then again in the afternoon, when I start to get tired. It’s a nice feeling when the cravings go away, I also enjoy making the home made latte and taking a break to enjoy my coffee. Also, you could try and have eggs for dinner with a piece of toast. My whole family have lost weight just by eating more egg dinners. All the best of luck! James Darden Why doesn’t scanning a barcode save the item to the food section of the app in addition to the diary? It would be nice to be able to add the macros from a scanned item at any time rather than just at the time it’s scanned for the diary entrance. Or is that feature not available on the free version? Shell When I do plenty of workout, do the calories I burn become calories I can consume on top of my daily amount? You’re lose the weight you want just make sure you’re eating great clean food. Drink plenty of water. Keep it up Maxine! Gina I think you are allowed to eat them because they are added to your daily total. I’m also scared to eat all of the extra for fear of weight gain but you worked for them so go ahead and splurge a little! Jo It’s up to you whether you choose to consume those extra calories burned during your workout or not. Think about it as a treat for getting your body moving. But if you really want to amp up your weight-loss journey, stick to only eating your daily calorie target. For example if I want to lose a pound a month and I did no exercise will I lose that pound by just keeping my calories within the limit set for me by the app? Karen Yes and if you do log any exercise, the app adds the “lost” calories to the total number you can eat in a day. Sara I have a friendly suggestion for an important update if sufficient data exists to make this possible. Many people today require various medications to maintain their health. Some of these medications cause significant metabolism changes resulting in constant weight gain. If you would like to see more people seeing positive results using this app with the intentions of weight loss, I would highly reccomend an altering of the app to reflect counteracting of weight gain as a medication side effect. Some doctors decide that the benefit of the medication outweighs the health risks of weight gain as a side effect, and for many individuals stopping their prescriptions is not viable. I love the app and hope that you folks seriously consider my suggestion.
